Vintage Enamel Cloisonné Gold Flower Small Oval Bead 13mmx6mm - Set of Two

Cloisonné is a way to decorate metal with enamels.  Cloisonné beads are handmade and often take several hours to fully create.

Cloisonné is from the French word "cloisons" which means "compartments."  Cloisonné is a way to make patterns of enamel on metal by putting the enamels in compartments.  For the method of cloisonné used here, the compartments are made by shaping wire in the desired pattern, putting the wire on the metal, and then putting the enamels inside the cloisons made with the wire. The enamel is fired after each color is applied.

These beautiful round beads are approximately 13mm x 6mm in diameter and have generous 1.5mm holes. Price is for two beads. Beads are pre-owned and supply is limited.
